The challenges of surrogacy
This month’s Cape Town speaker evening invites a controversial topic – that of surrogacy. The issue challenges our moral, legal and ethical feelings about childbirth and the structure of families.
Our speaker is a surrogate mother who feels passionately about the subject. Confounded by four years of desperate attempts at fertility, the couple’s last and only resort was surrogacy.
Martine Dorrington will take us on her trying journey and explain the choices and issues they had to deal with as they adopted their surrogate child.
