Cape Town: Tunnel and Castle Dungeons Tour @ Castle of Good Hope

Mensa Cape Town joins Good Hope Adventures for an exploration of the historic dungeons of The Castle of Good Hope, as well as the network of tunnels beneath Cape Town. Built between 1652 and 1895, and originally intended to divert mountain water into the ocean and subsequently used for transporting sewerage, the tunnels were later arched over and forgotten.

What to wear: You’ll be hiking through tunnels which are wet and slippery – so you’ll need suitable hiking/sports shoes.
What to take: A torch or preferably a headlamp, as you’ll need your hands when climbing ladders in the dark.

Cost: R 250pp (children U16 R 175pp)

For an additional R 100pp, you may have an opportunity to fire the Castle cannon.
