In this session, we will take tour to the highest peak in each of the 9 provinces in South Africa. Over the last couple of years, the 9 Peaks have become a well-known challenge, during which adventurers attempt to summit the highest peak in each of provinces in the fastest possible time. Many adventurers set out on this challenge with a leisurely stroll in mind. Then there are those challenge the record. Amateur adventurer, Tian Liebenberg, assembled a team of climbers to challenge the 9 Peaks record. With the record pegged at 4 days, 18 hours and 38 minutes, they had their work cut out for them. About the speaker:
Born in Cape Town, Tian has been living in Sandton for the last 20 years. As a part-time adventurer, he is in the process of climbing the 7 Summits, which is to climb the highest peak on each of the 7 continents. He has been to Kilimanjaro (Africa), Kosciusko (Australia), Mt Elbrus (Russia) and Aconcagua (South America). When he is not working in media or climbing mountains, he makes music and has a keen interest in theology.
