What is Olli made of?
The surprising story of the origins of the elements in our bodies
Introduction

Philip was born in the UK and studied Physics at Oxford University, obtaining a 1st class degree and a PhD in semiconductor optoelectronics from Sheffield University.
He worked as a research scientist for 13 years for QinetiQ, studying the optoelectronics of low-dimensional semiconductor structures.

He has published over 30 articles in scientific journals, including an invited review article for the American Physical Society and an article in Physical Review Letters. He has given numerous invited lectures at International conferences.

In 2003, Philip was dragged laughing and smiling from Mud Island (also known as the UK) to the Waterberg by Juliet, his wife, a South African born and bred. Philip enjoys the stunning dark skies of the Waterberg and introduces others to the wonders of the universe via his public astronomy shows and talks.
