Current, paid-up members of the Winelands chapter of Mensa South Africa are invited to the chapter’s ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING on Thursday 5 July 2018 at 18h30, in Somerset West.
Soup and sherry will be served, and there is a cash bar at the venue – and a warm fire! At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to find out and raise questions about the chapter’s operations and finances.
Our constitution provides for a two-year tenure for the chapter’s committee and, since the current committee was elected in 2016, a new committee will be elected this year.
The current committee, comprising:
Gerald Steyn – chairman
Christian von Wechmar – treasurer
Erik Eloff – membership and testing officer
Yvonne Steyn – secretary
will step down – all have indicated that they are available for re-election.
At the meeting, members will also be asked to
– accept the annual report (July 2017 to July 2018)
– accept the membership report
– accept the financial statements to date.
If you would like either to nominate a member to serve on the committee, or to put your own name forward for election, please email the Winelands Secretary.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, kindly complete a proxy form, available from the Winelands Secretary.
Mensa Winelands’ favourite prestidigitator, Jacques le Sueur, will entertain members after the meeting.
Jacques last enchanted Winelands members with his sleight of hand and interactive illusions in August 2016, and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us again!
Jacques has performed worldwide for nine presidents and several members of royalty, and is the only person to have stolen Nelson Mandela’s watch – twice!
Further information and venue details are available from the Winelands Secretary.
