Join us for Mensa Winelands’ interactive workshop on Saturday 16 July at the Helderberg Nature Reserve, from 09h00 to 16h00, presented by FGASA-registered nature guide Andreas Groenewald.
You will:
– explore the ancient knowledge and historical use of local plant species
– learn how to identify which plants can be used in the treatment of ailments
– discover the various chemical properties of plants which can be used as medicines, as well as their application
– find out about medicinal products being made from these plants,
There will be hands-on interaction with a variety of medicinal fynbos plants, as well as a short guided walk through the nature reserve.
Afterwards each person will have the opportunity to compile a basic first aid kit made from the various plants and knowledge gained.

Members benefit from a Winelands’ subsidy of this workshop and pay R100pp; guests pay R150pp*. Early registration is advised and prepayment is required.
