Prof André Roux is head of the Futures Studies programmes at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
His areas of expertise are business economics and labour economics, and his research focuses on globalisation and socio-economic development in Africa. He is a member of the management committee of the Bureau for Economic Research and holds a BCom, Hons BCom in Economics, an MCom in Economics and a PhD, all from Stellenbosch University. He lectures on economics and futures thinking at the USB and on various executive education programmes in South Africa.
Prof Roux is responsible for more than 130 popular publications, a book (9th edition), and has published in academic journals. He is very popular as a presenter and won the Best Lecturer Award in Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences in 2016.
